In saying that I just learned colmak-dh on a columnar 36 key board and I am happy typing C with middle finger. Its actually an advantage of row-stagger that the most dextrous fingers have access to multiple keys less than a key unit away. Even with the silly arms, the way the scrake runs really conveys him being a heavy juggernaut to me and that makes him chasing you so much more threatening.You use your index finger to type C on a Qwerty row-stagger board. I do think some of the animations are a bit overdone, especially the flip-happy stalkers (on suicidal and HOE) and the arms flailing scrake sprint. The general nature of the motion captured animations respecting mass and momentum so well really adds to the zed's seeming alive, and that makes them much scarier, especially the scrake and FP. Instead of robot-ey individual attacks like in KF1, he now swings his chainsaw in flowing combos that really look like they have mass and momentum behind them. Model aside, the way he moves in KF2 makes him so much scarier than his KF1 companion. The new scrake i think is an excellent example of this. The new motion captured animations are SO much more organic and believable than the KF1 ones, and i think this adds tremendously to the zeds being 'scary'.

Keep in mind a comparison graphic doesn't show you an incredibly important factor in comparing KF1 zeds to KF2 ones: Animations. I'd say put two variants in if they want to please fans. I don't mind the visual design of the new one (though I find it less interesting), but the old one brought something to to the game that's no longer there. He doesn't look as much of a deformity of a human being in KF2. Now he doesn't tower over other zeds like he used to.

I think the flesh pound looks way more scary in KF1. Great work!! I think most of them look better in Killing Floor 2, save a few.
